In a remarkable display of political unity, Governor Ademola Adeleke and former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola have pledged to collaborate in securing 1.5 million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 elections. The political landscape in Osun State witnessed an unprecedented alliance over the weekend as Governor Ademola Adeleke and his predecessor, Adegboyega Oyetola, committed to working together for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections. This strategic partnership is aimed at uniting their supporters to achieve a monumental target of 1.5 million votes for the President.
The announcement came during a campaign event in Osogbo, where High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, widely known as Tompolo, launched a mobilization initiative that includes the deployment of 10,000 canvassers across the state. Additionally, he donated 30 campaign vehicles and public address systems to enhance the outreach efforts of the campaign. This move is seen as a significant boost to Tinubu's campaign strategy in a state that is crucial for his electoral success.
During the event held at Freedom Park, both Adeleke and Oyetola emphasized the need for political leaders and stakeholders to rise above personal differences and unite for a common cause. Oyetola, represented by Bola Oyebamiji, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, urged the canvassers to approach their roles with a sense of sincerity and dedication. He warned against hypocrisy and complacency, calling for a concerted effort from all political factions to prioritize the collective interest over personal ambitions.
“I appeal to all political leaders, interest groups, individuals and stakeholders to rise above selfish interests, personal ego and political differences. Let us demonstrate that political differences need not prevent us from pursuing a shared national objective,” Oyetola stated.
This display of unity between Adeleke and Oyetola marks a significant shift in the political dynamics of Osun State, reflecting a growing trend among politicians to collaborate across party lines in pursuit of shared electoral goals. As the 2027 elections approach, the effectiveness of this alliance will be closely monitored by political analysts and the electorate alike.
