The Oyo State Police Command has made significant arrests in connection with a chilling murder case involving a family of six in Oloba Village, Lagelu Local Government Area. The suspects, identified as Hammed Akinbami, Ojo Akinbami, and Padonu Edward, are accused of invading the home of Ifeanyi Chukwu and his family, allegedly in retaliation for the damage of a mobile phone owned by one of the attackers.
According to police reports, the assailants were armed with a locally made Dane gun, two cutlasses, and a wooden club. In a brutal act of violence, they allegedly killed four family members, robbed the household of approximately N200,000, a motorcycle, and other valuable equipment including a Doma machine and a chainsaw.
This tragic incident is not isolated; it coincides with other serious crimes being addressed by the Oyo State Police. In a separate case, a 44-year-old woman named Mrs. Wahab Rukayat lost her life during an armed robbery in Wofun Olodo, Ibadan. The command has expressed its commitment to tackling the rising tide of crime and ensuring the safety of residents in Oyo State.
