Nigerian dancer and entertainer Poco Lee has broken his silence following his release on bail in the United Kingdom, asserting his innocence regarding the allegations that led to his detention. In a heartfelt video call with social commentator VeryDarkMan, which was shared on social media, Poco Lee conveyed that he remained mentally strong throughout the ordeal, largely due to his unwavering belief in his own innocence.
During the conversation, Poco Lee expressed his primary concern for the welfare of his associates, particularly highlighting the impact his absence had on their business activities. "I was just being myself. God sees my heart. My only worries were about my people. Jago could not do anything business, and I didn’t want to stress anyone," he stated, underscoring the emotional toll the situation took on him and his team.
He further added, "If I was inside there and I did what I was accused of, I would have felt I was paying for my sins, but since I knew I didn’t do what I was accused of, my mind is pure." This statement reflects his determination to maintain his integrity and mental clarity amid the challenges he faced.
VeryDarkMan, who facilitated the video call, also took the opportunity to address the narratives circulating about Poco Lee's situation, praising the support he received from fellow artists. He notably acknowledged Burna Boy and Rahman Jago for their steadfast loyalty during this trying time, stating that their support was crucial in helping Poco Lee navigate the controversy.
As the legal proceedings continue, with Snaresbrook Crown Court scheduling a plea and trial preparation date for September 15, the public eagerly awaits further developments in this high-profile case.
