The Obidient Movement, a political group known for its support of former presidential candidate Peter Obi, has announced the appointment of a new National Coordinator, indicating a significant change in its leadership structure. The newly appointed coordinator has publicly accepted the role, emphasizing the values of grace, humility, courage, and determination that will guide his tenure.
This transition comes as Yunusa Tanko, the previous coordinator, has been reassigned within the movement. The reshuffle is seen as part of an ongoing effort to revitalize the organization and strengthen its strategic direction as it prepares for future political engagements.
In a statement following his appointment, the new National Coordinator expressed gratitude and a sense of duty towards the movement's mission. “I accept this appointment with the utmost seriousness and a commitment to uphold the ideals that our movement stands for,” he said, highlighting the importance of unity and collective effort in achieving their goals.
“With grace, humility, courage and determination, I accept the appointment to serve as National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement,” he stated.
The Obidient Movement has gained prominence as a grassroots political force in Nigeria, particularly during the last elections. The leadership change is expected to inject new energy into the movement as it seeks to maintain its relevance in Nigeria's dynamic political landscape.
