This incident, which took place on September 10, 2026, in the Logo Local Government Area, tragically resulted in the deaths of four police officers and seven other civilians, leaving many more injured and several unaccounted for.
The attack was marked by a fierce gun battle that lasted approximately seven hours, during which security operatives managed to repel the assailants. According to the Benue State Police Command, the swift action of law enforcement played a crucial role in mitigating further loss of life, yet the aftermath of the incident has left the community in mourning.
Governor Alia denounced the attack as a “despicable act” and emphasized the need for justice for the victims and their families.
